Kylie the owner of Creative Home Image started work at the age of 15 working full time with her parents in their business Northern Carpets Pty Ltd. Back then they were mostly doing floor coverings with the occasional addition of curtains and blinds. When her parents decided to retire in 1999 Kylie had the opportunity to start fresh and decided to remove the floor coverings and added unique home decor to the growing range of blinds and curtains.
The business commenced 1st of July 1999 in the same building Kylie worked in with her parents since the early eighties and is still in today, only now known as Creative Home Image. At the time it was both an exciting and daunting venture and a massive change but we love a challenge, it’s still a challenge every day but that is what makes it all worth while.
Now With over 35 years in the industry Kylie has seen many changes in colours, styles and textures. Attending trade fairs, DesignEX, Market Week and the BMAA Super Expo’s over the years where we discover new products and design trends, attending workshops and seminars to keep up with changing trends.
We are a small family run and owned business, Kylie along with her husband Emil are both fully qualified with a certificate III in the soft furnishings industries, with over 50 years combined experience. We may be a small business but we offer a personal service and are very particular with our products on completion of every project.
We have battled through some tough times of late with the rise in internet purchasing, the GFC, Covid 19 and general uncertainty in politics has had a profound effect on all businesses, but we diversify where need to keep on going and I think it is important to keep up with changing trends.
We don’t want to become a faceless website that you just jump on to order your products; we still want to have a personal touch with every customer.
