Today we received some new product from Intrinsic and the wonderful Adele Basheer.  We just love what Adelle does with the colours of all the gift ware she does from the Beautiful Stationary with colours that will amaze you to the key rings and luggage tags. The candle range is no exception they have wonderful aromas and the box’s are beautifully coloured and pattered and make the perfect gift for just about anyone.  The coffee mugs have the new addition of Grandma and Daughter to the collection.  A big hit with the ladies are the Travel clutches, we have a huge range of colors for you to pick from, personally these are used a lot as evening clutches as the colours are such a beautiful addition to evening attire.  I will be posting some of the other new arrivals soon which will include some free trade products, recycled products and more so keep an eye open.

We attend two major Trade Fairs a year to stock up the shop, the first in February and the second in August.

It is busy times trying to find the right products to purchase and bring back to the store.  As you can see the image is of one small section and it takes us 4 days to do the entire show.

Kids & life Instyle we found lots of new products so we have some new practical items like Nappy bags, Gummee Glove’s, we also picked up a new local South Australian company Pouch Australia with awesome large pouches for toys a must have for all mums. A new range of bibs with a teether’s attached no more picking them up off the floor and lots of cute little rattles.

In the home wares we have a beautiful selection of dream catchers,  wall art which will come through around October and as usual we picked up a lot of stock from the beautiful Lisa Pollock (Art from the Heart) and you wont miss this when it arrives with the beautiful colours and inspirational quotes.

Another local South Australian is Adele Basheer from Intrinsic who also has a magnificent range form coffee mugs, key rings, stationary, quote books, coin purse, travel tags and clutches and all with amazing quotes and outstanding colours so be prepared for that pop of colour when you enter the store next.

Another new range I am excited to see and also see how well it is received is the new IMPACT eco table ware.  I just think that this product is so cool, we have decided to stock the canisters, tumblers, plates, bowls and salad bowls and servers.  This product is made of bamboo it is Eco friendly, very durable lightweight and dishwasher safe, they come in amazing patterns which I am so happy about and I just cant wait for it all to arrive so keep an eye open for it in store soon.

There are so many changing trends at the moment, every time you watch TV there is another renovating TV program whether it be The Block, House Rules or another.  We are seeing new trends a lot faster these days, However like all aspects of the interior design industry, there are trending styles that come in and out of fashion, so don’t be disheartened when a trend you have decorated with ends.

As you would know styles and colours change with the season’s, that is why now when it is cold you should invest in beautiful woolly throws or something thick and fluffy to add warmth to a room, change existing cushions to something warmer in colour and texture.

This is also the case for window dressings although you probably don’t want to change curtains from season to season you can layer your window dressings and have the best of both worlds. Clean simple lines are still very popular; less is defiantly more when it comes to interior design and windows.

For insulation, by layering your window dressings you can block out the harsh heat in summer or open up to let in the warm winter sun in winter.

I read an article recently that was forecasting the 2017 trends and it was quite interesting to say the least, the heading read “if you just got Copper or Marble stop reading now”. There is a strong belief that the copper and rose gold look will be out by 2017, this is due to the oversaturation of cheap copies of these types of finishes, Marble is another they say is on the way out and that we should expect to see more raw earthy textures like timber, clay and wicker.

I was quite surprised to read that Terracotta was making a comeback and that the subway tile was making a rapid departure which I am not sad about as it is not my favorite.  In the fabrics we are likely to see some more flora’s return along with some well needed rich colours, the palette has all been earthy now for so long we are in need of a little colour.

Decorative Artist, Anna Chandler was born in Tasmania and moved to Perth, Australia to study Design. She has lived in many exotic locations around the world and continues to travel widely to gain inspiration for her growing range of homewares, many of which are produced at her studio in Osborne Park, Western Australia.

There are many products available from Anna Chandler it was difficult for me to just choose a few, she has available everything from Tea Towels, table cloths, cushions, scarves, door mats, mugs, plates, cards, tea cosies, tote bags, coin purses and this list just goes on.

I really love the key rings as they are an inexpensive gift and they are absolutely beautiful with 20 individual designs there is a colour and style to suit just about every one.
